Who we are
Accountants for Opticians is a trading style of Buzz Accounting Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 15182358, VAT registration number GB481 882 554. You can reach us at hello@buzzaccounting.co.uk.
What we collect, and why
If you send the contact form we receive your name, email address, the practice you run and whatever you write. If you become a client we hold what we need to do the work and to meet our own obligations — accounting records, identity documents for anti-money-laundering checks, and payroll data where we run your payroll.
We do not ask for, receive or process patient identifiable information. Your VAT workings, GOS schedules and accounts are business records, not clinical ones. Please do not send us anything containing patient data; if it reaches us by accident we will tell you and delete it.
Our lawful bases
- Contract — doing the work you engaged us to do.
- Legal obligation — anti-money-laundering checks and statutory records.
- Legitimate interests — replying to an enquiry you sent us.
Who else sees it
Our software providers, as processors. HMRC and Companies House where we file for you. Nobody else, and we do not sell data.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising cookies and no tracking pixels. It uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, and that is gated behind your consent: nothing loads and no cookie is set unless you accept it on the banner, and declining changes nothing about how the site works.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become engagements: up to 24 months. Client records: six years after the engagement ends, plus the anti-money-laundering records we must retain.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
